The success of the AFG and AFG-2 by Magpul lead to the development of the M-LOK Angled Fore Grip (AFG) version that offers substantial improvements over its predecessors. The entire design is based on a minimalist approach to its construction, yet it offers several important features that shooters will enjoy. The high strength grip uses a direct attach M-LOK mounting system for maximum efficiency even though the entire unit weighs 1.2 ounces which includes the hardware.
The M-LOK AFG manages to be slightly shorter than the AFG-2, yet it maintains a very similar gripping area on the surface. The slightly shorter profile does mean that it offers a better range of mounting options. Despite its compactness as compared to previous models, the M-LOK AFG is more ergonomically designed and provides a higher level of comfort which creates better weapon control and reduces fatigue.
Another advantage of the M-LOK AFG is that it places the shooter’s hand high up on the centerline of the bore which differs from previous models that use conventional fore grips which are vertical. Because of this new positioning, the M-LOK AFG reduces the recoil action which allows for better weapon control when firing follow-up shots at a faster rate.
All the hardware necessary for the attachment is provided for the M-LOK AFG which includes the hand guards crafted from aluminum or polymer and the forends as well. This product is made in the USA.
